If you are a good test taker, the day following your class is optimum. If you are not used to taking tests, the very best time to take the exam would be 48-96 hours after your review session.
Use the Sircon Portal link found in the navigation bar of the Pathfinder website. Scan down the page to the "Important Notices" section of the page. Use the "Indiana Insurance Exams" link to access the registration area.
Life & Health Assessment - 2 hours, 40 minutes - 160 questions
Life Assessment - 1 hour, 20 minutes - 80 questions
Health Assessment - 1 hour, 20 minutes - 80 questions
Property & Casualty Assessment - 2 hours, 4 minutes - 160 questions
Personal Lines Assessment - 1 hour 40 minutes - 100 questions
English as a Second Language
If English is not your primary language, you may qualify for additional time to take the exam. If this is the case, please indicate your need for additional time during the online registration and scheduling process.
If you were within five points of a passing score:
Listen to the Pathfinder audio CD continually and review the chapters that caused you the most problems. Also, take advantage of the Pathfinder on-line flashcards. By following these recommendations, you should be able to retake your examination and pass.
If you were within ten points of a passing score:
We recommend that you attend at least a portion of another Pathfinder review session. Remember, you can always attend another review session for free, if you come back within 6 months. If you did not pass the L&H Exam, you might consider purchasing our Pathfinder Advantage CD-ROM.
If you missed a passing score by more than ten points:
We strongly encourage you to return for another review session. Making up more than ten percentage points on the exam by studying on your own is extremely difficult.
